Subject: Motivating others in a slow economy
With so much dark news around, have you found yourself a little
despondant, down, or a bit scared these days?
You are human. But consider that even in good times, we really Never
know what is around the corner for us, so bad stuff could happen to us
financially at any time. So, even though extra negativity might be a bit
irrational in these times, we still want ideas to get and stay motivated
oursleves and motivate others at the same time.
To motivate yourself you need to primarily 2 things:
1. Set goals. Never heard that before, right? Yes, define in wriing
what you are pursuing and that is a big step to getting excited again
about the future.
2. Give yourself a pep talk about how good you already are. That's
right. Think about all the good traits, skills, accomplishments you've
had so far in your life. Focus in particular on those strenghts that
will support your current goals. This always provides us with the fuel
to be motivated.
Now, just apply these principles to others; find out what they want,
tell them how good they already are, and woila, the seeds of motivation.
Be warned though, you can't motivate others , but you can create an
environment where people motivate themselves.
